Chiropractic Sports Physician

Dr. Tom Young graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, FL after earning an undergraduate degree and completing graduated training in Physical Therapy at Gannon University in Erie, PA. Following graduation, he completed a 300-hour post-graduate Diplomate credential from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians® qualifying him as a sports medicine specialist.


This designation is held by fewer than 500 doctors nationally; and Dr. Young has served as a research abstract reviewer, and practical examiner for the organization.


He has co-authored a textbook on Functional Assessment & Rehabilitation, presented original research at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, and taught continuing medical education at a variety of venues including college homecomings, state association conferences, and professional organizations. Dr. Young works collaboratively with many providers, including experience in a hospital-based Sports Medicine Fellowship Program and as the team Chiropractor to the Daytona Tortugas professional baseball team. He has also completed certification with the Titleist Performance Institute, enhancing his work with golfers.

 

Dr. Tom uses his experience as an NCAA wrestler to complement his extensive training to create patient-centered management plans to enhance training outcomes, prevent injury, and help patients recover from the stresses of competition. To stay in shape, he enjoys weight training, running, soccer, and yoga.
